The biggest selling  female artist of the deacde, Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter was born on September 4 1981 to Celestine “Tina” Knowles, a hairdresser and salon owner, and Mathew Knowles, a Xerox sales manager. She was born and raised in in Houston, Texas with her younger sister Solange who was the former band member of Destiny’s child. While she was attending St. Mary’s Montessori School, she enrolled in dance classes. Her dance instructor Darlette Johnson noticed her singing ability when he was humming a song and  she continued and was able to hit the high-pitched notes. Beyoncs won a school talent show at age seven, when she sang John Lennon’s “Imagine”.  In fall of 1990, Beyonce enrolled in Parker Elementary School, a music magnet school in Houston, where she would perform with the school’s choir.

One year after winning the talent show in school, When Beyonce was eight, she and her childhood friend Kelly Rowland met LaTavia Roberson while in an audition for an all-girl entertainment group. They were placed into a group with three other girls as Girl’s Tyme, and rapped and danced on the talent show circuit in Houston. To her surprise, her father resigned from his job in 1995 to manage the group. This decision made Beyonce’s family’s income shrink and her parents were forced to move into separated
apartments. Mathew cut the original line-up to four and the group continued performing as an opening act for other established R&B girl groups. In 1996, the girls began recording their debut album under an agreement with Sony Music, the Knowles family reunited, and shortly after, the group got a contract with Columbia Records. Beyonce’s father changed name to Destiny’s Child in 1996, based upon a passage in the Book of Isaiah.

Managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, the group became one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. After two members of the band complained about the management of Mathew, they were replaced in the video “say my name” with the Beyonce as the group driving force, Destiny’s child continued their second album. They released their platinum selling album “survivor” with many hit songs like “independent women” “survivor” “bootylicious”. The release of Beyonce’s debut album, “Dangerously in Love” in the year 2003, established her as a solo artist worldwide. She earned five Grammy Awards and was featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”.  Destiny’s child released their final studio album “Destiny fulfilled” in 2005.

Following the disbandment of Destiny’s Child in June 2005, she released her second solo album, “B’Day” in 2006 which had hit songs like “Déjà Vu”, “Irreplaceable”, and “Beautiful Liar”. The song beautiful liar was a duet with the singer Shakira. Beyonce also started acting career in 2001 in the TV film “Carmen: A Hip Hopera”, followed by “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and “The Fighting Temptations” in subsequent years. Her Golden Globe-nominated performance in Dreamgirls was seen in the year 2006. Her other significant roles include “The Pink Panther” and “Obsessed”.  Her marriage to rapper Jay Z and portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records in 2008  influenced her third album, “I Am Sasha Fierce”. It showed the birth of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce and earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010, including Song of the Year for “Single Ladies put a Ring on It”. This song had a very significant dance choreography.  In the same year the song “halo” became the 12 top ten single and she also covered for the president Barack Obama and the first lady later in the year. She  released the remix of the song videophone featuring lady gaga.  She released her fourth album in 2011 which was mellower in tone, which reflected 1970s funk, 1980s pop, and 1990s soul. Her critically acclaimed fifth album, “Beyonce” was released in the year 2013. It was different from previous releases by its experimental production and exploration of darker themes. Her sixth album, “Lemonade” was released in 2016 along
with a short film of the same name. The album became her most critically acclaimed work until now.

She has sold over 100 million records as a solo artist and a further 60 million with Destiny’s Child making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has won 20 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award’s history. She is the most awarded artist at the MTV Video Music Awards. She won around 24 VMAs. The Recording Industry Association of America recognized her as the Top Certified Artist in America during the 2000s. In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Radio Songs Artist of the Decade,the Top Female Artist of the 2000s and handed their Millennium Award in 2011. Time listed her among the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013 and 2014. Forbes also listed her as the most powerful female in entertainment of 2015.

Beyonce was in a relationship with Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and the two started dating each other after their collaboration on “’03 Bonnie & Clyde”, which appeared on his seventh album. The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse in the year 2002. Beyoncé and Jay Z’s were featured in the music video for the song, which made the public speculate about their relationship. On April 4, 2008, Beyonce and Jay Z married. They gave birth to a daughter Blue Ivy Carter on January 7th 2012. A 4 year old Blue Ivy recently attended VMAs award function wearing $11,000 dress.

She is a genetically engineered  package performer, an excellent as singer, actor, dancer. In addition to it she is a successful business woman and a beautiful loving mother which makes Beyonce a Megastar without a doubt!!!
