Canadian singer/songwriter/Actress Carly  Rey Jepson was born on November 21 ,1985 in Mission, British Columbia.The daughter of Alexandra and Larry Jepsen; her stepfather is Ron Lanzarotta. She attended Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC when one of her teachers encouraged her to audition for Canadian Idol. Jepsen placed third in the competition and was signed to Fontana and MapleMusic after completing the Idol tour.Jepsen oficially  debuted on the music scene in 2008 with Tug of War.

In February 2012, she released the EP Curiosity. The album features the single, “Call Me Maybe,” in September 2011 and received both national and international recognition. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez tweeted about it and Jepsen’s name suddenly was trending worldwide. Bieber then made the announcement on the MuchMusic program New Music Live that Jepsen has been signed to Schoolboy Records, the label run by his manager, Scooter Braun. “Call Me Maybe” became the first song by a Canadian artist to reach the top of the digital chart since Bieber’s “Baby” in January 2010.

She released the full-length album Kiss in September 2012, which featured her massive hit, as well as the single “Tonight I’m Getting Over You.”Jepsen recorded a duet with Owl City “Good Time”, which was released as a single in June 2012. The song peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 .
Jepsen’s third album Emotion, was released in 2015. The album was heavily influenced by songs from the 1980s. Its lead single “I Really Like You” reached the top 5 in the United Kingdom and top 15 in Jepsen’s native Canada.
Jepsen has received multiple awards, including three Juno Awards, a Billboard Music Awards, and an Allan Slaight Award, and nominations for Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, MTV Video Music Award , Polaris Music Prize and People’s Choice Awards. As of May 2015, Jepsen has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Back in May 2011 , Carly Rey  Jepsen was head over heels for the man who inspired her hit, “Call Me Maybe” (Jordi Ashworth) but Carly broke up with jordi in June due to crazy schedules.

Carly met Matthew  while working on the follow up to her hit song, he co-produced second single The Kiss with LMFAO’s Redfoo. Unfortunately they broke up in 2015. Singer Carly Rae Jepsen, who is dating photographer David Kalani Larkins, says she’s missed out on the everyday aspect of being with her partner as a result of her “intense” touring schedule.
