Charles Otto “Charlie” Puth Jr born on December 2, 1991 is is an American singer-songwriter and record producer in Rumson ,New Jersey .He started gaining popularity through posting his original songs and covers to his YouTube channel.He is best known for his 2015 debut single “Marvin Gaye”, which features vocals from Meghan Trainor. He is also known for singing on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” taken from the “Furious 7” soundtrack. The song topped charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, and peaked at number 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
In 2011, he won an online video competition sponsored by Perez Hilton, Can You Sing?, with a version of Adele’s “Someone like You” which he performed with Emily Luther.After enjoying Puth’s performance of “Someone like You” Ellen DeGeneres announced that she had signed him to her label eleveneleven .This made a huge turning piont in Charlie Puth’s career.In December 2012 he released a promotional single, “Break Again”, with additional vocals by Emily Luther. On January 25, 2012, they came back to The Ellen DeGeneres Show and performed Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” and “Break Again”. Puth left eleveneleven in late 2012 and singed in with Atlantic Records.
