Born as John Christopher “Johnny” Depp II on June 9, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky is an American actor, producer, and musician. Her mother name is Betty Sue Palmer who was a waitress and  his father
John Christopher Depp is a civil engineer. He is the youngest and has three siblings. Depp is a 20th cousin of Elizabeth II, who was the first woman of Sub-Saharan African ancestry in North America to sue for her freedom from slavery and had won in 1655.

Depp and his family moved frequently during his childhood. They spent their life in more than 20 different places, eventually settling in Miramar, Florida in 1970. Depp’s parents divorced in 1978 when he was 15 years old. His mother married Robert Palmer who died in 2000. Depp called Robert “an inspiration”.

A year after his parents’ divorce, Depp dropped out of high school to become a rock musician. He again went back to school two weeks later, but Depp followed his dream of being a musician as advised by his principal. He then played with the musical band “The Kids”. The Kids changed their name to “Six Gun Method”, but the group split up before signing a record deal. Depp subsequently joined the band “Rock City Angels” and co-wrote their song “Mary”, which appeared on Rock City Angels’ debut Geffen Records album “Young Man’s Blues.”

On December 20, 1983, Depp married Lori Anne Allison, the sister of his band’s bass player and singer. During their marriage she worked as a makeup artist while he worked a variety of odd jobs, including a telemarketer for pens. His wife introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage, who advised him to pursue an acting career. To this advice, Depp made his debut in the low-budget horror film, “A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)”, where he played a teenager who falls prey to dream-stalking demon Freddy Krueger. Then Jeff Yagher was replaced by Depp in the role of undercover cop Tommy Hanson in the popular TV series “21 Jump Street” in the year 1987. This was followed by the title role in “Edward Scissorhands” in 1990.  He later found box office success in the fantasy adventure, somewhat dark, idiosyncratic performances. Then he consistently selected roles that surprised critics and audiences alike. He found success in the film “Sleepy Hollow” in 1999, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” in 2003 and its sequels. He then portrayed the role in the musical adventure film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in 2005. He also acted in the fantasy film “Alice in Wonderland” in 2010 and voiced the title character in the animated action comedy western “Rango” in 2011.  He has worked in nine films with director, producer, and friend Tim Burton. Depp’s also was featured in the main role in the movie “The Tourist”.

Depp has dated several female celebrities, and has been engaged to Sherilyn Fenn, Jennifer Grey, Winona Ryder and Kate Moss. On December 20, 1983, Depp married Lori Anne Allison but divorced her in 1985. Depp has two children with French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis: Lily-Rose Melody, born in 1999 and Jack, born in 2002. While filming The Rum Diary, he met co-star Amber Heard. The couple was seen publicly together for the first time in 2012, not long after Depp’s split with Paradis. He married actress/producer Amber Heard in 2015. Just 15 months later, in May 2016, Heard filed for divorce. The divorce was settled on August 16, 2016, with Heard receiving US$7 million and dismissing the restraining
order against Depp. They also issued a joint statement, which said that their “relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.” The entire proceeds received by Herald from the divorce  was donated to charity.

Depp has been nominated for many major acting awards, which includes three nominations for Academy Award for Best Actor. Depp won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” He has been listed in the 2012 Guinness World Records as the highest paid actor. Depp was inducted as a Disney Legend in the year 2015.
