Paramore

Paramore formed in 2004 is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee consisting of lead vocalist Haley Williams, guitarist Taylor York , drummer Zac Farro and later addition of Haley’s neighbor Jason Bynum. Originally Paramore was supposed to release their album through Atlantic Records but the marketing decided it would be better not to be attached to major label as for the image of the band so their album was released through their subsidiary label Fueled By Ramen. In April 5 after a small private performance at the warehouse the band was officially signed by Atlantic Records and Fueled By Ramen.

On July 24 2005 Paramore’s “All We Know Is Falling” was released. The album’s title came into existence when Jeremy Davis left the band for personal reasons. As Hayley Williams explains, “The couch on the cover of All We Know is Falling with no one there and the shadow walking away; it’s all about Jeremy leaving us and us feeling like there’s an empty space.” But after the band asked for Jeremy Davis , he returned to Paramore after five months. Paramore released its first single “Pressure” but failed to chart. “Emergency ” their second single also did not land well featuring Hunter Lamb who replaced Jason Bynum in December 2005.

In spring of 2006, Paramore was an opening act on tours for both Bayside and The Rocket Summer. On June 26, 2006 the band then covering Foo Fighters “My Hero” for the sound of superman soundtrack was released.

Paramore’s first US headlining tour began on August 2, 2006 to a sold-out audience. In 2007 Lamb left the band to get married. NME a British Magazine listed Paramore as one of the ten bands to watch out for in their “New Noise 2007” feature. Once more Paramore was featured in Kerrrang! magazine however Haley Williams stated that the article was the untrue portrayal of the band especially because it focused Haley as the main component.

The album, titled Riot!, was released on June 12, 2007 entering the Billboard 200 at number 20 and the UK charts at number 24. Before the release of the album Davis was expelled from the band due to lack of his participation, after the agreement involving three members Davis was reinstated as bassist and the band’s new guitarist became Taylor York. The first single from the album “Misery Business” was released on June 12,2007. On October 11, 2007 the music video for “crushcrushcrush” was released.

In early February 2008, the band began a tour in Europe, however on February 21, 2008, the band announced that they had canceled six shows due to personal issues MTV.com reported that fans of Paramore were speculating about the future of the band and reported rumors of trouble had begun earlier in the month when Josh Farro expressed his anger against the media’s focus on Hayley Williams.

Paramore released their first single “Ignorance” from their third album “Brand New Eyes”

On December 18, 2010 a message from Hayley, Jeremy, and Taylor was released through Paramore.net stating that Josh and Zac were leaving the band. On January 10, 2011, in an interview with MTV, Hayley Williams said that despite the band losing two of its founding members, they would release new music in 2011. The first song that the band released without the Farro brothers was “Monster”.

“Paramore” the band’s fouth studio album was released on April 5, 2013. The first single from the album, titled “Now”, was released online on January 22, 2013 and the album’s second single, “Still Into You”, was released on March 14, 2013 achieving commercial success. The third single, “Daydreaming”, was released on December 2, 2013. The album’s fourth single, “Aint It Fun”, was released on February 4, 2014, eventually becoming the band’s highest charting song in the United States.

On December 14, 2015, bassist Jeremy Davis left the band. On June 17, Farro was featured yet again in a picture uploaded to social media, this time behind a drum set, confirming that he would be recording drums for the album, though he later clarified that he was only recording drums for the album and that he had not rejoined the band as a full member. On February 2, 2017, the band announced that Farro will return as the official drummer of the band.

On April 19, 2017, Paramore released their new single “Hard Times” and announced that their new album “After Laughter” would be released on May 12, 2017.

“Aint It Fun” became the winner for Best Rock Sing at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

Paramore’s music style has generally been regarded as alternative rock, pop punk, pop rock, power pop, emo pop and emo.
